RESOLUTION 1996 -14
TOWN OF GRANT
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS1 Mr. Jeff Holker is the owner of a parcel of land located at
9899 Keswick Avenue North, Stillwater, Minnesota 55082,
and legally described as:
The South Half of the North Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter (S'A of N~ of NE1A of
NW1A) of Section Fourteen (14), Township Thirty (30) North, Range Twenty-one
(21) West. Subject to a 33
foot easement along the west line thereof.
and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Holker has applied to the Township for a variance from
Town Ordinance No. 703.09 in order to allow him to
build a twenty-four (24) feet by twenty-eight (28) feet detached garage
closer to the front lot line that the principal building; and,
WHEREAS, following a public hearing on the application, the Grant Township
Planning Commission has recommended granting
the variance subject to conditions; and,
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Grant finds that a variance
is appropriate because there is a hardship on the subject
property due to the limited buildable area on the lot where an accessory
building could be located. Specifically, the area proposed
for construction of the accessory building is the best location on
the parcel to build the structure.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Supervisors of the Town
of Grant as follows:
1. The Applicant is granted a variance so as to allow him
to construct an accessory building closer to the front lot line than the
principal building. Said variance is granted subject to the following
conditions:
a. The new garage
shall be built in such a fashion and in such a style as compliments the
house.
Specifically, the exterior of the building shall match in color and construction
the residential home on
the property.
b. The new garage
shall be built in a location as depicted on the site plan submitted with
the
application. Additionally, the building shall be built no closer
than five (5) feet from the side property
line.
Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Grant this 6th day of August,
1996.
