CITY OF GRANT
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA

A RESOLUTION TO REVIEW CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT LANGUAGE IN SECTION 505, TOWN OF GRANT ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 50

WHEREAS, the people and the City Council of the City of Grant wish to preserve the rural character of Grant; and,

WHEREAS, the city of Grant has acknowledged the need to take a more proactive approach to managing its future by virtue of its incorporation; and,

WHEREAS, conditional uses (that is, uses that are neither always permitted nor always prohibited) are those uses which are most likely to generate legitimate differences of opinion as to their appropriateness or inappropriateness in a rural community such as Grant; and,

WHEREAS, these conditional uses are therefore those uses which are most likely to demand clear guidelines to assist the City Council and other city officials in consistently and fairly disposing of permit applications.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Grant as follows:

1. That Conditional Use Permit (C. U. P.) language in Section 505, Town of Grant Zoning Ordinance No. 50, be reviewed in such a manner as is prescribed by law, including any and all public hearings as prescribed by law.

2. That the Planning Commission of the City of Grant is directed to develop and bring to the City Council its recommendations if any, for changes in the C. U. P. language of Zoning Ordinance No. 50 for consideration by the City Council of the City of Grant.
