RESOLUTION 1999-O6
CITY OF GRANT
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA

WHEREAS, Mr. Daniel G. Carrell is the owner of a parcel of land located at Lot 1, Block 2 of Pinefield Estates, City of Grant,
Washington County, Minnesota; and,

WHEREAS, Mr. Carrell has applied to the City for a variance to build his home one hundred thirty-five (135) feet set back from
Highway 96 rather than the one hundred fifty (150) foot setback requirement as per the City's Zoning Code; and,

WHEREAS, following a public hearing on the Application, the Grant Planning Commission has recommended granting a variance; and,

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Grant finds that a variance is appropriate because there is a hardship on the subject
property due to the limited buildable area on the lot. Specifically, the lot is irregularly shaped, has steep slopes, low lying areas, and a
pipeline easement over a portion of it.  It is the finding of the City that the location proposed by the Applicant is the most logical place
to place the home on the lot.

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Grant as follows:

1. The Applicant is granted a variance from the required setback of one hundred twenty-five (125) feet from Highway 96 (a ten (10)
feet further variance than requested by the Applicant to better allow the house to be properly situated on the lot) for the purpose of
constructing his principal residential home.

Adopted by the City Council of the City of Grant this 3rd day of August, 1999.

Gary Erichson, Mayor
