FEMA Floodplain Map Revisions for 2008

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is revising their flood plain maps in Washington County.  The City of Grant is providing this information to help residents understand the changes proposed by FEMA.  Notification was sent to all residents affected; you may have been included because your property is being added to or removed from the flood plain as listed in the following tables.

  • A map of the affected parcels is here.
  • A list of parcels with buildings in a flood zone is here.
  • A list of parcels added to a flood zone is here.
  • A list of parcels with receding flood zones is here.

Flood insurance requirements are handled between individual property owners and their lender or insurance agent.  The above list which includes structures in the flood plain is based on an estimate provided by the City using aerial photography.

Properties may already have flood insurance or an accepted amendment in place. These properties should not be affected unless the floodplain is being removed.

Please note that the City of Grant is providing this information as a service to residents. FEMA is responsible for any changes to flood plains. The City is not involved with determining flood insurance requirements for property owners.
